Maia Mocanu

fine artist based in London

Maia Mocanu is a student of visual arts and art history at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she has developed her artistic vision over the past two years.

Her artistic practice is influenced by various forms of art, including piano and photography, which enrich her visual language and offer her a complex creative approach. Maia Mocanu views art as a powerful medium for reflection, exploration, and dialogue, using it to uncover the subtleties of reality and challenge conventional perceptions of beauty.

Through her work, she seeks to find and highlight beauty in what is traditionally considered imperfect or "ugly," inviting the audience to reconsider societal definitions and engage in deeper introspection.

I am interested in human relations as well as topics about shame and insecurities, perception, the awarness of being looked at and many other discussions about the world we live in.

As I am a student I do experiment with a variety of different themes, but overall there is always a presence of some kind of human form in my art.
